SXSW Eco Volunteers have a variety of crews to choose from and may work on more than one crew throughout the event.
Hangs and removes all SXSW Eco banners in panel rooms and official venues throughout the event. Requires stamina, balance and the ability to carry 30+ lbs.
SXSW Eco Volunteers will join local area groups to work on projects to better the community through both service and outreach. Past projects include cleaning up and planting vegetation along the Waller Creek area.
Provides technical assistance for panels to include projectors, microphones and audio levels, room lighting and general troubleshooting.
Volunteers assist wherever extra help is needed.
Provides an abundance of information to SXSW Eco registrants and attendees, maintains computer stations where attendees can check e-mail, preview schedules and programming.
Maintains panelist green room, panel rooms, maintains panel schedule and assists panelists.
Assigned to photograph all aspects of SXSW Eco: keynote addresses, panel sessions, parties and more. Must be age 18+, have a Digital-SLR camera and portfolio ready to view on the internet. Provides appropriate credentials to press registrants. Gives direction for support resources.
Confirms and distributes credentials to all SXSW Eco registrants and guests.
SXSW Eco uses RFID chips in our credentials, which are checked at SXSW Eco events and venues. The RFID Crew helps keep the fleet of tablets & PDAs inventoried, maintained and distributed to their designated locations
Helps staff official parties and special events during SXSW Eco. Assistance with set-up and teardown may be required. Must be age 21+.
Assists exhibitors loading in to and out of the trade show; checks credentials at trade show entrances; ensures timely communication between exhibitors and SXSW Eco staff.
Drive SXSW Eco vehicles and vans to and from various locations to pick up supplies or other items needed by staff. May be asked to transport talent, speakers or guests of SXSW Eco. Drivers must be age 21+, with valid ID and insurance. Knowledge of the greater Austin area is required.
